Dance

The Centipede is my stage name; the name I use during performances, dance performances that is. My style of dance is very similar to hip-hop in theory, however I don't want to limit myself to that one genre [even though hip-hop is like a catch all now-a-days] due to my many influences and varying factors which come to create what I output as dance.

Dance, to me, is a form of physical meditation. The way I perceive existence in itself when I'm in that mode is that I'm the brush, where as dance is the paint, and the stage is my canvas; I'm painting my emotions away for you, as my audience, to see.

I feel that dance, or merely the arts in general, are a very important part of life. This creativity we have is very much apart of humankind and what really separates us from the rest of the world, not that other creatures aren't creative, but not in the same sense as us. We're able to do so much with ourselves, yet education seems to omit this aspect and you end up with these art classes that don't really lead anywhere, not just in the "professional" field, but the spiritual field - the part of you that has to do with a deeper sense of living than simply conforming to a society. I do strongly believe that the arts are something that everyone should set time aside to practice, not for the world's entertainment, but for your own enjoyment and positive spiritual growth.
